Help with recovering after having my wisdom teeth extracted?
I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted about twelve hours ago and now i am starving! I had chicken broth but it's not getting the job done. a few people I know said that they started eating as soon as the felt better. However dr's orders state i am only allowed to eat sweeter blends of juices apple Gatorade punch etc., chicken or beef broth, tea, applesauce, jello, sherbet, sorbet. It also stated that I should not have any dairy products? in the first 24hrs after surgery. I can understand why they don't want me to have coffee, tomato, grapefruit,cranberry and other acidic juices... but why not milk? I was really looking forward to ice cream or even pudding. I think that I m just going to follow dr's orders but I am still wondering about the dairy? Any additional info will be greatly appreciated(; thanks
milk does contain acid... and it is very important that you follow your doctor's instructions.
don't forget to keep your head elevated while you sleep, do not sleep on the side your tooth got pulled out of, no smoking or drinking alcohol, no sucking through straws, no working out or doing anything stranious until your blood clot forms and you are no longer bleeding, and remember to continue to change your gauze and bite firmly on it.
about eating... sorry... but you can't eat normal food for a while... maybe like 3 or 4 days until the bleeding stops.
