I'm very interested in hearing about all the (non-glamorized, nitty gritty and true) aspects of kitchen work, from dishwasher to pastry chef to master chef and anything in between. It doesn't have to be at a four star restaurant either, it can be a coffee shop, diner, bar and grill etc. however, no fast food places please.
I worked in a seafood restaurant. The kitchen is very hot, especially if you have deep fryers or grills on, sometimes both at the same time. It is really cramped. There is alot of pressure to make the food right and come out quickly, if not, then the waiter will not get tipped. and most of the time, you dont ever see tips working in the kitchen anyway. Every Job in the kitchen is hard. I have worked them all since the restaurant is more of like family owned. It can be stressful, but also very fun if you have a good team. time flies when you work in a kitchen.
What is the standard table height?
I bought a large square coffee table today at a thrift store that becomes a table kitchen. I'll cut the legs and existing "regular" legs to the height of the table. How can I measure that? What the standard height of a kitchen table from top to bottom (no bar or counter height)?
