Our American biscuits are similar to your English scones. We make them in the South and the midwest. I eat mine with gravy (when I make fried chicken or steak and gravy), with sharp cheddar cheese, with butter and jan, or with a sausage patty between them. You can eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or a snack.
